Creative Media Business Alliance (CMBA)
The Creative and Media Business Alliance (CMBA) is an informal grouping gathering some of Europe’s top media and creative businesses and industry associations. It was launched in November 2004 to give the sector a strong and united voice at the level of the European Union. The CMBA notably calls upon the European Commission, the European Parliament and the 27 EU Member States to focus on the creative and media businesses in their joint efforts to foster innovation, growth and employment in the Information Society. The sectors represented by the CMBA are more than a mere driver for technology development or an “added value” to the European Digital Agenda. They lie at the heart of the digital society.

Print Media in the times of change: A key contributor to EU2020
The Print Media Group (PMG) is a network of players in the print media chain. Member associations of the PMG meet regularly to discuss current regulatory issues and promote the work and the value of the industry. The group aims to provide European decision makers and industry at large with a clear understanding of its values and the role it plays in society as well as in today’s political context.
In March 2012, the European Publishers Council contributed to the joint publication “Print media in the times of change: a key contributor to EU2020″. PMG wanted to show that the clusters of industries which form the print media value chain – the papermaking, paper converting, printing, publishing and marketing – can and will be a valuable contributor to the new low-carbon, resource efficient and knowledge-based economy. The brochure tackles also the areas of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, which mirrors the structure of EU’s 2020 Strategy. In addition, the document deals with the effectiveness and cost efficieny of the Print Media chain. It is meant to be an “easy read” for both professionals and not.
